Football mates is a dutch company (The Hague) started with the website voetbalpaspoort.nl in 2009 (only for the Netherlands) to link football players with eachother.
After the succes in Holland (10.000 users in
the first season) we've started Football mates in England, Belgium and Germany.
Each country with a seperate domain.
When we viewed the website of FIFA, YOUTUBE and other international sites, we noticed that it doesn't matter from which country your are from as long as people are posting in English (offcourse you can post in your own language).
In 2011 we've decided to work on footballmates.com and combined 7 countries in one website.
One face to the world and everybody from any country can discuss about the items on the notice board and get in contact with everybody they've even played with.
The bigger the football community, the bigger the discussion and the more fun!
